What ChatGPT Business and Enterprise do well
If you want to work exclusively with OpenAI, the business plans give you a mature product.
The original
New OpenAI features appear there first. If you need a specific tool from the ChatGPT universe, this is the right place.
No training in business plans
According to OpenAI, training on data from Business and Enterprise workspaces is excluded by default, and a data processing agreement is offered.
Administration for teams
Shared workspaces, central billing, user management – with extended security features in Enterprise.
Where ChatGPT reaches its limits in a company
- One vendor, one model family. For long contracts, large contexts or a European provider, other models are often stronger. The LLM comparison shows which model is suited to what.
- Billing in US dollars, contracting party abroad. For many mid-sized companies, a German contracting party with invoices in euros and a local contact person is a real argument.
- Data storage in Europe not in every plan. OpenAI lists European data residency for new Enterprise and Edu workspaces and for the API, not for Business.
- Only from two users. Business starts at two users, and Enterprise is intended for larger organisations. Individual workstations cannot be equipped in an orderly way like this.
- Your own systems. Connecting to ERP, inventory management or industry software is not provided as standard and requires additional effort.

Yes, with a business plan or a platform with a DPA, and an internal policy. Private free accounts are unsuitable for personal data and trade secrets.
Can I use GPT models without a ChatGPT licence?
